Below is a brief summary of all the Dr's professional qualifications.
MB BS
MB Bachelor of Medicine: this is the first part of the standard medical degree, acheived after five or six years university study. ChB (Scotland) or BS (England) Bachelor of Surgery: the second part of the medical degree.
MRCGP
MRCGP Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners: the postgraduate qualification for specialising in general practice, often obtained by a GP registrar before entering general practice as a principal.
DFFP
DFFP Diploma of the Faculty of Family Planning (UK): The Faculty grants diplomas, certificates and equivalent recognition of specialist knowledge and skills in family planning and reproductive health care.
DRCOG
DRCOG Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaeclogists: this recognises special knowledge in this specialist area.
DCH
DCH Diploma in Child Health: this recognises special knowledge in this specialist area.
FRCGP
FRCGP Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners (by assessment): This is a special award given by the Royal College of General Practitioners based on the provision of an extremely high quality of medical care. It is based on a rigorous assessment of the doctor's work, and although awarded to an individual doctor, it is a reflection of the quality of care provided by the practice as a whole. There are currently only 100 doctors in the world who have achieved FRCGP by assessment.

BM

MICGP
MICGP: Membership of Irish College of General Practitioners - the postgraduate qualification for specialising in general practice in Ireland.

RCGP
RCGP Royal College of General Practitioners (UK): On joining the College, every Member and Associate is automatically allocated to membership of one of the faculties of the College. Faculties undertake a wide range of activities (including seminars, conferences, workshops, research and social events), which reflect the College’s aim to promote the highest possible standards of patient care.
MRCS
Member of the Royal College of Surgeons:The MRCS is a qualification usually taken at Senior House Officer (SHO) level. |
